Trashure with HDB

Housing Development Board of Singapore + National University of Singapore School of Design and Environment

As one of two core projects which made up my study abroad semester at the National University of Singapore, Jamie Yeo, Tricia Chean and I designed Trashure, a response to the Housing Development Board’s brief to redesign engagement in recycling practices in the thousands of public housing estates in a country where the culture and economy are built around consumerism, rather than repurposing or recycling.

Trashure is a resource crowd funding platform where one can pledge materials that would otherwise be thrown away to creative projects who are seeking raw or recycled materials to repurpose. People with ‘trash’ or resources can also earn money from their trash, while the creatives making ‘treasures’ out of them are more likely to find them at affordable prices.
